I was born in an area of the country that is known for its wilderness: New Jersey. The wilderness consisted of being surrounded by the New Jersey Turnpike and Interstate 295 but I was able to enjoy the beauty of the wild New Jersey terrain while growing up. I am the only member of my large immediate family to have ever left New Jersey – they have gone as far as Delaware, and have never gone any farther. I’m the rebel.

I arrived into the world of radio in 1995 as an intern at a radio station in Philadelphia. I spent hours learning the valuable lessons of filing and getting lunch for the entire staff. I was so strong at my filing and food service skills that I was given the opportunity to actually “speak” on the radio. I was allowed to say five words from 3:02am and 3:03am “Hi, this is Bobby Smith.” I was so good at those five words I moved on to Austin, Texas for a few years announcing the buses as they came in. Two years later the City of Orlando came calling, and seven years later I’m still here.

I love Orlando, the City Beautiful! While I’m not on MIX 105.1 I’m probably getting worse at my golf game, eating at one of our great restaurants or just watching baseball, football, and a little cold-sport called hockey. I tried to do all five of those at once, you try it, it’s not easy.
