I was born naked on a cold winter evening in Columbus, Ohio. From that day I searched for a warm place to settle down.
It took me some time, but back in 1986 I finally landed in Tallahassee to do the morning show at Z-103. It was there that I met my future wife Fran. (She was lucky caller 13) She was born in the summer on a hot day in Miami so she was looking for a cold place to settle down. Being the "yes dear" husband that I am, we moved back to Columbus, then Boston. 3 years of frostbite later and many years ago, I got my way and we landed in Orlando. My wife and I had a baby girl back in 1991. She's not a baby anymore.
Even though I'm not an Orlando native, I couldn't picture living anywhere else. We see a lot of movies, and I'm on a mission to play every single golf course in Central Florida. We try to act artsy when we can, so I'll throw on a sport coat and take my Mrs. to the Bob Carr for the Broadway series shows too.
Local TV anchor Bob Frier and I started the band "Simulcast" a couple of years ago, and along with 5 other very talented musicians we've been playing anywhere from the House Of Blues to BB King's Club to various charity and other big events. My wife thinks I'm kinda hot when I'm rockin' on stage with my white Stratocaster.
I'm very grateful that you take the time to listen in the morning. The opportunity to help you get your day started is something that I never take for granted! Feel free to email me with suggestions, comments or reactions to what you hear on our show. I'd also love to see you at our local public appearances, and hope you'll join us to support the many local charities that Mix 105.1 teams up with.
On behalf of my family and coworkers, thanks for being so loyal for the many years of listening! Hey if you have a free moment, click on "blog" below and get into my head. I use that space to write about things we don't have a chance to get to on the radio each morning.
Have a MIX day!
