Kara Killen began her radio career at an Alternative station in Stockholm, Sweden
in 1994. In a nutshell, her career path starts with Swedes...in 1986 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, she sneaked backstage at a Europe concert and met the guys in the band. She thought, wow, imagine a whole country full of cute, mild-mannered guys with poodle hair! It was '86, mind you. Two years later, she was living in Sweden and eventually met the guys again in 1996...still cute and mild, but the hair was long gone...all gone, in fact.

Kara has a colorful past having lived in Europe for 12 years and traveled to more than 42 countries. She believes traveling is the greatest education and says, "I've loved the culture and the music in every country I've visited. It has had a profound effect on my life and how I choose to live and love. Oh, and the beer was great, too."

Her hobbies include dog rescue and she is owned by two enormous boxer mixes, Ling-Ling and Zen, and her beakalicious African Grey, Kitoko Mingi (means 'Very Beautiful' in Lingala) who speaks in her voice and sometimes scares the fire out of her when he calls her name in the dark of night.
