I was born in New York City and spent my first 15 years in the Bronx until my family moved to Central Florida in 1990. I met my husband Eddie at Lake Mary High School and we graduated together in 1993. We now have a beautiful daughter, Melinda(the BEST baby in the world). Who was born just 2 minutes before you were screaming "Happy New Year" into 2006. Two minutes too early from a $25,000 savings bond for college and a year supply of free diapers and formula, had she been the first baby born of the year. It's cool though, I've gotten years worth of free stuff before my radio career began in 1995.
I was a prize pig! It's kind of how I became a DJ. I could just pick up the phone at any time and win. The very first time I walked into the radio station to pick up my prize, my heart skipped a beat and as corny as it sounds, I realized at that moment, I wanted to work in radio (and that was from just being in the lobby). Sometimes I think they originally made the 60 day rule because of me (sorry). I won so many prizes I developed relationships with all the right people who helped get my foot in the door, and I worked my way up. First at our sister station 102 Jamz here in Orlando, and now at Mix 105.1 since August of 2000.
During my time off I work with my husband. We own a business doing custom screen printing and embroidery called Tees Me Apparel. I also volunteer at my church working in the children's ministry from time to time. I'd also like to write children's books one day. Maybe that dream can come true too.
