When one has "spare time" some fish, some play golf... I get to be on the radio. I worked for MIX 105.1 from 1996 to 1999 and then I moved to Los Angeles for 5 years to chase my acting dreams. After the typical success and failures actors encounter, I moved back to Orlando with my wife to make and raise a family in a less chaotic atmosphere. I started back with MIX 105.1 in 2003 and have been lucky enough to be the fill in on the Morning MIX whenever Scott or Jay get sick (they don't), take vacations (hardly ever happens) or just don't feel like coming in (ya, right). I also grab as many weekend shifts as the bosses will give me.
I have always had a passion for music and absolutely NO talent to sing, dance or play an instrument. God's little gag on me. Realizing that I couldn't participate in the MAKING of music, I got into radio. My first radio gig was in St. Louis, Missouri at a station called KYMC 89.7 FM. I paid $30.00 a month to host a Friday night radio countdown from 4pm to 7pm. Yup, I paid to work on the radio! I have worked at many stations between then and now but I can truthfully say I have never enjoyed any other station as much as I enjoy Mix. The talent, the people, the bosses, EVERYONE just clicks and it is a nice family to be a part of.
My "real job" is that of the Director of Entertainment for Church Street Entertainment. I also am a cast member under an Equity contract for Walt Disney World and I have a roller coaster life as an actor (www.adamvernier.com). Thanks for reading this!!
